Our forum washingtondcrp.com here on ProBoards was an experiment launched in 2021. We were solely a Discord community with a simulated economy and governing body. The game moved to ProBoards and expanded rapidly but in recent times has died and is the reason for this post.
We believe this game we have created has potential to be something great. The entire idea behind it is this: Let the players decide how the game works through voting and lobbying! Sort of like real life, any aspect of the game can be changed without admin interference. Players vote for their leaders and legislation actually effects everything from term limits of those elected, to whether or not a certain role gets banned in the Discord server. Anything goes. The Admins are only there to make sure elections run smoothly, that's it. Get legislation passed for simulated and practical events (practical being what changes things within the game such as term limits or Discord server laws).
The economy uses the old monetary system plugin for ProBoards. This allows members to "lobby" for legislation and become corrupt, and you can be as honest or as corrupt a player as you desire. It is 100% allowed to join and not participate in holding an elected position. We've had players in the past join solely for the purpose of being a journalist. You can post as real or as fake of news as you want in regards to what's taking place in the game. That's what makes it great, you can sway the voting players with statements that aren't true given they don't do their homework on the matter. We're really trying to get this project as close to the real thing as we can but we need your help.
See the status of pending laws in real time.
We're still working out how the law enforcement side of the game will work. Of course we'd like to simulate trials and stuff like that but we just don't have the members right now.
Simulated issues
I know this post was kind of all over the place but I'm going to close on this note: help us out! The game will always remain free of course, what we are seeking is knowledge. Help us out by joining and leaving suggestions on how we should set things up and what systems to put in place. This is an "experiment" after all, and hopefully it continues for years to come. Thank you.
