Forum URL: thesixforever.proboards.com/Hello, my board is primarily for a rp game. The members & myself play/write multiple characters, & it would be so much easier if we could quickly switch from one account to another without having to log in/out each individual account. Is there an option or plug in that would allow for me to attach multiple accounts to my main user name, & then switch to another account using a drop down menu or something similar? I'm still new to running a board, & not very tech savvy, so any detailed info & step-by-step help on how to do this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

They don't have to log in and out of every account. This isn't something that requires a plugin. They just need to use one email address total to register all their characters on your forum, not a separate email address for every account.
Depending on what they did so far will depend upon the advice we give you next. Did they use a different email address in every account? If yes, someone will have to explain how to move forum accounts from one global account to another.
If you only have one member, they can look at the bottom right, click on the "switch account" button by the scroll bar, and then click on "Create a new account on this forum."

Hi there spellbinder , in addition to what bigballofyarn mentioned about using the switch account function built into the forum software (where you can create multiple accounts on a forum, tied to your global account info), there is a second option, but it requires a little more work, over just attaching a new account to your global account. The second option, is NPC Profiles. As this is a plugin, there will be a limit that will be reached at one point, if you let a large enough userbase opt to use this plugin. The downside to this option, is that anyone who you give permission to see and use this plugin, can also use any fake profile that is created through it.
So if you don't want people to have access to a particular fake profile, permission settings needs to exclude them from being able to use it. And while you can create multiple plugin instances of one plugin like this to define who has access to each copy, it's not advisable to do, as you would need the plugin space for other plugins eventually. Also, if there are any issues with it, it will be difficult to pinpoint which duplicate plugin is causing the issue.

Thanks for replying. There's only a few of us, and We're all new to this proboard I just had set up, we moved there from a xenforo board. I was not an admin on the previous board, but I am now on this new board, I'm familiarizing myself w/ the admin control panel on proboard, & its definitely a task. We haven't restarted the rp on this board yet, & bc we were used to the feature I described (coming from a xenforo board) i wondered if there was something like that on proboard, but what you're describing sounds like an easy option! Thank you for the information!

I was actually looking at that very option in the plug in menu last night, but I wasn't sure if that would be what we needed. you explained it better than the info i read on the plug in menu page. I will try what bigballofyarn suggested. Thank you for the information! I am new to handling the technical side of a message board, so I may have more questions after this.

(my board: thesixforever.proboards.com/) I am attempting to set up THIS option: support.proboards.com/thread/663519/members-agree-rules-before-accessing - for new members registering on my board . I've followed all the directions (so helpful that they put step-by-step directions!) & I'm testing it now w/ a new member, but she says when she clicks the "click to accept terms" link, it just takes her right back to the forum. I've double checked that I did followed the set up directions, & i can't figue out what I'm missing/did wrong. Any help on this would be much appreciated.

I believe i've finally figured it out (after several attempts throughout yesterday lol ) i've had 3 ppl, incl one of the admins from this board, test it, & it's finally generating an auto filled PM that comes to me, which is what i wanted. Thank you for responding! This support board has already helped me alot, & I know i'm going to have more questions as time goes by!

I went back & double checked all the steps I followed, & I got those right. I believe I was missing something with the code, i was sure that I was copy & pasting it directly from the source post, & I changed the forum URL, but everytime I tried it yesterday it wasn't working. I took a break & came back, & retraced all my steps again, & C/P'ed the code once more. I double checked the preview in the BBcode tab, & it looked like everything matched. I put it up, & had it tested, & NOW it's finally working. I'm not sure WHAT i missed before.
