I am a total novice but trying to adjust my V5 board a bit! The global header area, I have added a paypal subscribe button, all well and good, no hassles (honest). I want to put a small description above it and add a second donate option button. It is a gaming forum and members donate to help pay for servers we use to game (no profit). 1. Where can I get a brief outline of stand code functions etc.. 2. How do I change the colour of the text in the global header for different announcements 3. How do I add a second button along side as it keeps setting a new line and going below the initial button? Thanks you in advance

Hi allys, If you added the button code to your global header, you should be able to add the text you want to appear above the button by adding that text in the global header as well, in a new line above the code for your paypal button In regards to the numbered questions: 1) Unfortunately there really isn't a brief outline available, but if you let us know anything specifically you're looking for we should be able to assist! 2) Are you speaking about the standard news feed? 3) This can depend, based on the size of the images as well as the size of the container the images are in. If the two images combined are bigger than the container they're in, the images will appear stacked rather than side-by-side. But if you could link to the forum in question we can provide a more firm answer one way or another

Hi Ricky, basically the text in the header above the paypal button I wanted to change from black to orange. So the code required to change the etx colour.
I have 2 paypal buttons and wanted them both on the same line? Rather than one below the other? So quite small images?
TIA

Thanks! For the font color, visit your headers and footers and then wrap the text above the paypal button within these tags: <font color="#000000">Your Text Here</font> Change the #000000 color code to an orange color that you like, and any text in between those tags should appear in the color. In regards to the buttons themselves, are you wanting the card companies to appear in the same line as the orange subscribe button? That's about the only stacking of images that I'm seeing at the moment so I just wanted to be sure

Hi Ricky, Yes lo0oking at having the text above and the 2 x paypal buttons perhaps side by side or one on the left of the page the other on the right, which would now be below the shoutbox which has been moved to the top Thanks

I think I know what you're saying. In your global header, add this: <table width="100%"> <tr> <td>(Paypal Button Code)</td> <td align="right">(Paypal Button Code)</td> </tr> </table>
Add the paypal button code in the two spots provided and then place this in your global header. This should make one button appear at the top left, and another at the top right while being in the same line

The shoutbox should already show to guests, unless you have added a code to hide it. I have looked on your forum, and indeed the shoutbox is showing. Could it be you meant for guests to be able to shout in the box? In that case, that should be an option within the shoutbox page in your admin area to allow guest shouts.

Themes > Layout Templates > Shoutbox
Make sure your forum's default theme is selected in the dropdown on top.
Add a new line to the beginning of the template and add this to it. Then add a new line to the end of it and add this to it.

You need to go to your Layout Templates in the Theme section of your Admin panel, then in the Home template, remove $[shoutbox] and replace it with this: {if $[current_user.is_member]}
$[shoutbox]
{/if}
