I actually have seen that happen in many forums before, but if your admin account gets hacked, you can come here and request for them to change your password back to normal, but that is a very good idea to use until you do get it. I have been to many forums where they have the user with a fake guest script and removed from the staff list(through javascript). That is what I used to do. No one has to know about the account and you will be fine.
I just thought of one that I don't know if anyone has thought about. Always log out when you are going to leave the computer to where people can get to it. If you don't, all sorts of weird things to mess you up. So, just press the log out button, because it will only log out by itself when the selected time limit is up.
You say to move the posts to an admin area? How do they just move the post without moving the whole thread?
You quote the post, then you take it to the thread in te admin board and post it there. Then go to the post and delete it. That is how you do it. It's simple really.
I've never had to keep a secure board, but this is what I'd do if I had to:
--Have it so that only people who you know, even indirectly (like, you know your friend, who knows their friend, has a friend who wants to sign up) can sign up. Make them tell you beforehand - in an email forwarded to everyone in the 'line' between them and you - what their username is going to be, so you know it's them when you accept them (obviously, disable signups unless you accept them!).
--Keep a password at least 10 characters long. Make it very complex - with random capital letters, numbers, characters such as !@#$%^&*(), etc, and so on. Make it something you can remember. Write it down - NOT on a computer - and repeat it till you have emorised it for all time. This might take half an hour :-). Destroy the piee of paper you wrote it on. (I would find it helpful to take a common word - like 'puppies' - and change it to make it harder, such as PuPP13s.)
--Constantly run checks of your forum to make sure that no one 'bad' has gotten in. If they have, lock down the forum into maintence mode.
--Don't keep too many staff members. Seriously. You shouldn't need that many. A good idea when choosing staff is to choose a trusted, responsible friend.
--Make sure all staff members have a long, hard password. Don't ask them what it is, of course, but tell them what I've told you. ^^^
--Always logout when you leave your forum. This is to ensure that a little sibling/older sibling/parent/relative/friend don't accidentally (or 'accidentally') screw something up.
I am having trouble with two members they are saying dirty things and saying bad words how do I get rid of them for ever because I banned both of them
If that happened on either of my boards I would ban them but also delete their accounts. If they make new ones then IP ban them I'm not really sure how IP banning works because I'm new to all this but I'm pretty sure people here know.
